This 20-Micron Pleated Sediment Water Filter (5" x 2.5") catches dirt, sand, hair and other fine particles so your cold plunge remains debris free.

Keep your cold plunge pristine without breaking a sweat. Designed specifically for the compact canister systems found in many home cold plunge systems, this 5" x 2.5" pleated filter is your first line of defense against debris, skin cells and sediment.

Key Features

  • Precision Filtration: The 20-micron rating strikes the perfect balance—it’s fine enough to catch visible particles and "floaties" while maintaining the high flow rate necessary for efficient chilling.

  • High-Surface Pleated Design: Unlike melt-blown or string-wound filters, our pleated polyester maximizes surface area. This means more dirt-holding capacity and a longer lifespan before you see a drop in water pressure.

  • Built for Cold Therapy: Engineered to withstand constant immersion in treated water. The durable end caps and reinforced core ensure the filter won't collapse under the suction of high-performance pumps.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I change my filter?

There are a few factors to consider when determining how often you need to change your filter but the short answer is every 2-4 weeks. This entirely depends on water quality, usage and how dirty your body and feet are when entering the plunge. Hosing off prior to entering your cold plunge, makes a big difference.

All things considered, you should not go longer than 4 weeks without changing your filter. Here are some general guidelines to filter change frequency:

The smaller the micron, the more frequent the changes: A 5 micron filter captures more particles than 15, 20 or 50 microns. For that reason, we recommend replacing the filter every other week to maintain cleaner water, ensure stronger water flow and reduce strain on your chiller’s compressor.

Flow rate into your plunge is weak: If you cannot easily access the filter to visually see discoloration, the water flow into your plunge is often compromised with a dirty filter. Over time, the flow rate will weaken and in some cases will cease completely with a dirty filter.

Does regular filter maintenance affect chiller longevity?

Maintaining your chiller’s filter regularly is not just a routine task, it's essential for prolonging the unit's lifespan and ensuring its efficiency. Here's why:

Preventative Measure: Regular filter maintenance acts as a protective shield for your chiller. It prevents dust, dirt, and other impurities from accumulating, which can cause the system to work harder than necessary.

Avoid Expensive Repairs: When filters aren't changed frequently, debris can build up, leading to potential damage. This not only results in costly repairs but can also render the chiller inoperative for extended periods.

Energy Efficiency: A clean filter allows for optimal airflow, reducing energy consumption. This means your chiller won't have to expend extra energy to maintain temperature, resulting in lower utility bills.

Optimized Performance: Keeping the filter clean ensures the chiller operates at peak performance. This means consistent, reliable cooling for your needs without unexpected breakdowns.

Warranty Protection: Neglecting filter changes could void your warranty so we highly suggest frequently replacing your filter in order to keep your cold plunge chiller operating at it's optimal level.

In summary, regular filter maintenance is a small investment that reaps significant benefits. It's a crucial step in ensuring your chiller remains functional, efficient, and cost-effective for years to come.
