Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean the reusable filter?

Remove the blue caps from both ends of the filter. Soak filter in hot water mixed with dish detergent to loosen debris, then gently scrub with a soft-bristle brush. Clean every 2-4 weeks to prevent buildup and and ensure optimal water circulation.

Who this filter is NOT recommended for?

Because this is a 5-micron stainless steel filter, it captures a high volume of fine impurities and therefore requires frequent cleaning. If regular maintenance is not something you can reliably stay on top of, this filter may not be the best option for you. Inadequate cleaning can restrict water flow, leading to reduced water pressure and increased strain on the system overall.

My water flow has stopped after a filter change. How do I fix this?

The result of water flow stoppage post filter change is due to the introduction of air in the chiller lines commonly referred to as Air Lock. To fix this, we need to remove the air and replace it with water. See steps below.

OPTION 1

With chiller turned ON, slowly open the filter housing as to "burp" the filter. As the pump engages, you should hear and see water coming out of the top of the filter housing filling up your filter. Once water is overflowing, tighten the housing completely. Water should resume into your cold plunge but in some cases you may need to turn the chiller off and back on to restart the pump.

OPTION 2

With chiller turned OFF, get a garden hose with a nozzle and set the nozzle to jet mode. Shoot the water through the bottom hole of your cold plunge (ideally your water level is below the top hole so you can see water manually exiting as you are doing this). Run the water through the bottom hole for 2 minutes to remove all air through the lines. Turn your chiller ON and water flow should resume.

Does regular filter maintenance affect chiller longevity?

Maintaining your chiller’s filter regularly is not just a routine task, it's essential for prolonging the unit's lifespan and ensuring its efficiency.

Preventative Measure: Regular filter maintenance acts as a protective shield for your chiller. It prevents dust, dirt, and other impurities from accumulating, which can cause the system to work harder than necessary.

Avoid Expensive Repairs: When filters aren't changed frequently, debris can build up, leading to potential damage. This not only results in costly repairs but can also render the chiller inoperative for extended periods.

Energy Efficiency: A clean filter allows for optimal airflow, reducing energy consumption. This means your chiller won't have to expend extra energy to maintain temperature, resulting in lower utility bills.

Optimized Performance: Keeping the filter clean ensures the chiller operates at peak performance. This means consistent, reliable cooling for your needs without unexpected breakdowns.

Warranty Protection: Neglecting filter changes could void your warranty so we highly suggest frequently replacing your filter in order to keep your cold plunge chiller operating at it's optimal level.

In summary, regular filter maintenance is a small investment that reaps significant benefits. It's a crucial step in ensuring your chiller remains functional, efficient, and cost-effective for years to come.
